About Ms. Zabel
A LITTLE BACKGROUND:
I have a bachelor's of science degree with Minnesota State University-Mankato and am continuing my education to obtain a master's degree from University of St. Thomas in special education with an autism spectrum disorder emphasis. I have a son, Carson, who is in 7th grade and a pug-beagle mix, Charlie. We love to go to the park, see theater productions (live and screen), enjoy cooking and creating crafts.
PROFESSIONAL/TEAM HISTORY:
I am excited to be starting my fourth year with TEAM. Before starting as a full time employee at TEAM Academy, I substitute taught with TEAM for a year so it felt like a natural progression to move into teaching with this group. I spent three years teaching SMART and art classes with all of the TEAM students and loved all the creativity and drive the students displayed. I loved that I had the opportunity to work with every single student in TEAM and prided myself on knowing each one. I am now moving in a new direction led by my educational path and accepted the position as special education -LD teacher. I am excited, scared, and thrilled to be learning and growing. It is different working with small groups compared to the larger groups I was accustom to. I can't wait to see what the year will bring!
